Chantal Botanch, soprano



Chantal Botanch was born in Girona and began her musical studies at the Isaac Albéniz Conservatory of her town. Later she took up singing lessons with the soprano Carmen Bustamante, with whom she studied until reaching the Superior Degree at the Liceo Conservatory of Barcelona obtaining always the highest scores.

At the same time she graduated in Art History at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and in 1986 she moved to Milano (Italy) in order to attend advanced courses (especially of Bel Canto) with Marco Balderi, Elvira Ramella, Luigi Baragiola and Emma Raggi-Valentini among others.

She has performed in Catalonia and the rest of Spain as well as in France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Romania, U.S.A., United Arab Emirates, China and Russia.

Her repertoire ranges from the Old Italian Music, Baroque Music and Classicism to the music composed in the first half of the 20th century.

Since 1993 she is a member of the jury of the Concorso Lirico Internazionale A. Catalani held in Ostra (Italy).
